FAQs

What is Contouring?

This is our artisanal touch in controlling the way our eyes perceive the smile, through the sculpture of new silhouettes and reflective contours in either composite, porcelain and also the outline of the gums, transformative results are achieved with minimally invasive principles. It achieves the desired results previously only possible with Porcelain Veneers.

What is Composite Resin?

Contemporary composite resins have advanced beyond cavity restoration to reshape and refine anterior teeth without removing natural enamel. Composed of 75–80% glass and ceramic particles, the resin matrix acts as a scaffold, bonding these materials for strength, durability, and aesthetics.

How long does Composite last?

This is all relative to how well they are maintained and cared for, much like our natural teeth. A high precision delivery and biomimetically crafted composite on back teeth can last in excess of 7 years. On the front teeth in very thin layers, composite would have a common aesthetic lifespan of 5-7 years.

How do I maintain Composite?

Maintain your composites with routine brushing using an electric toothbrush and interdental cleaning twice daily. Steer clear of abrasive toothpastes, including charcoal and whitening options, to preserve their surface and shine. For lasting aesthetics, we include annual composite polishing alongside routine check-ups and hygiene appointments.

Am I suitable for Composite Contouring?

During our dedicated 1-hour consultations, we carefully assess your suitability and explore all treatment options. While most natural tooth surfaces can bond to with composite, broader factors such as desired outcomes, maintenance expectations, timelines, and dental health are considerations in determining if this is right for you.

When are Porcelain Veneers better?

If the desired smile requires larger changes, more teeth to be involved and the underlying teeth are previously treated more extensively, then the exploration towards using Porcelain to contour the teeth become more suitable. The longevity, artistic control and scope of treatment covers a broader range of starting points and delivers the high aesthetic results time and time again.
